Hibiscus contains many bioactive compounds, including anthocyanins as well as other flavonoids and phenolic acids that are thought to exert antioxidant effects and contribute to its ability to support cardiovascular health.³ ⁵ Multiple published controlled clinical studies have demonstrated the benefits of Hibiscus sabdariffa for supporting healthy blood pressure⁸ ⁹ ¹⁰ and blood lipids⁵ ⁶ ⁷ ¹¹ ¹². Several subsequent meta-analyses also confirmed these effects. Meta-analyses showed that hibiscus supplementation can support healthy systolic and diastolic blood pressure³ ¹³, and healthy blood lipid levels.³ ⁴
