Lifenol™ Responsible Sourcing

Cultivating hops the traditional way

Hops thrive in temperate climates, and ours are traditionally grown climbing along metallic wires. As the vine grows, a second wire structure is built to attach the stems on the wires. This helps ensure that the stems are turning clockwise to follow the sun throughout the day. The flowers are cut from the second year after planting, from the end of August and throughout September. After harvesting, the hops are cut back to spur regrowth. Hops fields are replanted after 25 years, as the yield begins to wane after this point.

“Hops are cultivated following the best agricultural practices and, by sourcing a co product, we’re bringing a great added value to our suppliers.”

Our Commitment

Ensuring quality and traceability

Lifenol™ hops enjoy full traceability and strict quality monitoring from field to final product. We select varieties of female hops with a high content of specific prenylflavonoids, and carefully screen the raw materials to validate the species and identify potential adulterants.

Sustainably sourced

Our hops are sourced exclusively from Hallertau – the world hops capital – in Germany, from suppliers who are genuine partners. Their expertise and care for the unique environment in which they operate ensures that the high quality raw material that powers Lifenol™ is delivered in a sustainable manner with full traceability from field to final product.

By working together, we ensure all our suppliers share our commitment to responsible sourcing.
